This 13 room boutique hotel in Laguna Beach, California, was lately refurbished and renovated through the local firm of Horst Designers. The work reflects a forward-searching, contemporary design aesthetic yet still time, a contextual reaction to Laguna Beach’s historic cottage aesthetic, like the adjacent historic Orange Motel that was established in 1931.

The facade consists of reclaimed wood, Corten steel along with a two-story eco-friendly wall. The reclaimed wood was restored from structures being destroyed in east LA that have been built-in the first 1900’s. Corten steel adds both an earthly quality and also the patina of your time. The 2-story eco-friendly wall reflects the ardent hillsides that embrace this seaside community, plus an curiosity about sustainability among its citizens.
